Any member who was an Active Member at the time of his/her death, is entitled to burial space at the cemetery, based on availability. However, burial privileges are subject to the existing rules and regulations of the cemetery, LFC and procedures set forth by the Cemetery Committee. Minor children, aged 18 or younger, of Active Members are also entitled to burial space at the cemetery.
Upon notification of a death of a member wishing to be buried in the LFC cemetery, the committee will put the notifying family member in touch with the cemetery and issue the appropriate documents for burial. Space will be assigned by the Co-Chair of the cemetery committee, Michael Sugerman.
If you would like to reserve a plot, please email our Cemeteries Committee Co-Chair Michael Sugarman at mssugerman@verizon.net or you may call him at 401-301-0974. Michael will assist you with contacting the cemetery and beginning the process ahead of burial.
-
Currently there is no cost to reserve a plot. If there is want or need to reserve a plot next to the deceased that must be decided and reserved at the time of the plot assignment.
All costs of burial are the responsibility of the deceased’s estate. The plot and all graves within the plot, have been paid for and are owned by the LFC. Also the LFC has paid for perpetual care on all graves within the plot. There are costs that would be incurred upon the death of a loved one, by the loved one’s family. Those costs will range from $1500 to $3000, depending on what day of the week and what time of day the internment would take place (please see the internment rates document for the breakdown of those costs).
-
The Rhode Island LFC has prepaid perpetual care for all of the graves within the family plot. Annual seasonal care at the NJ cemetery is $1200-$1300.
-
Any cousin with extenuating hardship circumstances should contact the Co-Chair of the Cemetery committee, Michael Sugerman, who will consult the President and Treasurer to find a resolution.
-
As the LFC has pre-paid perpetual care, there are currently no annual costs for the LFC Rhode Island cemetery plot.
-
Michael Sugerman is the Co-Chair of the Cemeteries Committee. Michael oversees all aspects of the Rhode Island LFC cemetery and will help you to reserve a specific plot location within the cemetery.
-
At the time of this publishing, pre-reserving a plot in the Rhode Island LFC cemetery is not possible. Upon a member’s passing, they will be assigned the next available burial plot. If the deceased is survived by a spouse, the spouse may then request that the next grave in that line, be held in reserve for the spouse.
-
Yes, in order to be buried in the Rhode Island LFC cemetery the person being buried must be Jewish, non-Jewish family members can attend burials. Burial privileges are subject to the existing rules and regulations of the cemetery, LFC and procedures set forth by the Cemetery Committee.
-
Reservations may be made only for a spouse, unless otherwise approved by the Cemetery Co-Chair. Should the place that is reserved not be used by the intended, the area reverts back to the committee to be used as needed. Minor children, age of 18 or younger, or those who are part of the family and in college or military service, living in the same household, will also be eligible for burial in the Loyal Family Circle cemetery.
-
Although it is possible to open a grave, exhume or move a buried individual, the cost associated with this is the direct and sole responsibility of the family wishing to make this change and costs can exceed $10,000 +.
